First things first

A few funny things happened on my way to looking for work, which I will expand more on in a future post.

In the end, we felt it would work best for our family if BB returned to work part-time, which left me available to go to school part-time. So BB works half-time and stays home half-time. I study half-time and stay home half-time.

And so I find myself a half-time stay at home dad. I mean I'm always a dad, but this is my first time experiencing the real stay-at-home responsibilities.

I'm not even sure why I feel a need to blog about it, other than using this as a kind of e-diary. Maybe proving to myself that I can do this. Even part-time, caring for three kids under the age of 6 is challenging.

So let's set some ground rules here...

#1 Any success I have in the day to day operation of the household is grounded in the foundation set BB who has been raising the children and managing the household full-time since 2004. This blog is, if anything, an homage to her inspiration as a parent and as a spouse. Proverbs 31:10-12

#2 No names. Due to potentially personal nature of some posts, I'll use pseudonyms for:
My wife (Beautiful Bride, or BB)
Our five year old daughter (Bex)
Our three year old son (Smasherman or Smash)
Our 1.5 year old daughter (Bo Baitty or Bo)
Our Cat (we'll just call her Cat)
And our guinea pigs, Catsnack1 and Catsnack2, whom I love dearly with no irony whatsover.

I gotta run. The big kids just finished stirring something in the kitchen and I heard Bex tell her brother to taste it first...

Oh hey, I got this from GraphJam the other day. Worth printing out and duct taping to the top of the old toolbox...
